Alexander:

I started a love affair with fashion on my first visit to a tailor’s shop as a child, and developed a love of hand sewing that led me in turn to couture and it’s use of craft to make art, its obsessive pursuit of delicacy and lightness. After learning and working under Joseph Martin, one of Ireland’s few remaining bespoke and military tailors, I worked as a hand seamstress growing my technique and knowledge whilst cutting and creating bespoke work for friends and family and in 2020 launched my own fine fashion business. Over my seven years of experience in the making of bespoke clothing, I established my work practice, bringing together my three pursuits: tailoring, couture and art.

I specialise in combining tailoring and couture techniques to create super light tailoring which, due to its supple fit and gentle silhouette, fits more comfortably into life today, whilst continuing to experiment and push my craft and artistic practice by creating and showing a small collection of fine fashion/art pieces each year.
